Whilst France is a big country, the road networks here lend themselves to effortless, stress free motoring with little traffic and superb motorways. Covering the distances between destinations could not be more straightforward.
The distance you cover over the course of your break is entirely up to you. Some choose to restrict the amount of driving they do and with two of France's most renowned and picturesque wine regions, not to mention the grand chateaux of The Loire Valley so close by, you don't have to go far to have a great holiday. Others prefer to travel further afield and visit the endless attractions and scenery France has to offer.

Campsites
France boasts nearly 11,000 registered campsites (second in the world only to the USA), most of which offer electricity points, toilets and showers. Outside of the summer peak season, it is not usually necessary to reserve in advance and prices can range from €4 to about €25 per night.
Campsites range in style from small farm sites for less than six vehicles to major holiday centres with entertainment complexes, restaurants and swimming pools.
All of our motorhomes are equipped with a copy of an official guide to campsites showing the location, tariff and facilities offered by each one.
France Motorhome Hire is also a member of France Passion (www.france-passion.com) and each vehicle has a windscreen pass which allows access to more than 9500 parking places on private property. These include farms, vineyards, chateaux and places of outstanding beauty where you are welcome to stay free for up to 24 hours.
France extends a warm welcome to motorhome travelers with many towns and smaller villages offering "Aire de Service" – dedicated service areas for motorhomes where you can empty waste water and refill fresh water tanks for free. Many also offer very low price or free overnight halts – mostly in pleasant surroundings. All of these areas are well signposted and to help further, each of our vehicles has a guide to help find them.
For those who prefer to stay in total isolation, France offers a wealth of opportunity. There are only a few areas where "camping sauvage" (or wilderness camping) is prohibited and one of the greatest joys of a motorhome holiday is that you can break your journey whenever or wherever you wish (parking restrictions for motorhomes are usually well signed so it is easy to avoid being asked to move once settled for the night).
Staying on official campsites offers a greater level of facilities, amenities and security so the choice is truly yours.
