Travel writer and Francophile Paul Shawcross has produced a series of apps for smart phones and tablets about France. The original app, the best selling Dordogne Explorations, explores the beautiful regions of Périgord and Quercy whilst the follow up, Provençal Roaming, guides visitors through the ancient territory of Provence. Paul’s latest app, Nice & Beyond, explores the magnificent city of Nice and the Arrière Pays Niçois, that wonderful mountainous region behind the City which is only just over an hour from the shores of the Mediterranean.

Best French Campsites

The Best French Campsites website offers reviews of campsites in France by campers John and Jenny Wilson. They have highlighted some great campsites in popular holiday areas of France such as:

  • Brittany
  • Normandy
  • Vendee
  • Dordogne
  • Languedoc
  • Provence

Most of the sites feature great facilities such as swimming pools and they try to pick sites which are reasonably spacious. Details about “how to get there” as well as things to do in the area are given.

La Maison des Bulliats

la-maison-des-bulliats

British couple Fred and Helen Lockwood own and manage this southern Burgundy vineyard producing Régnié, a stunning Beaujolais Cru, bursting with red fruit flavours. Their wine is made with great passion using traditional methods. Vines are tended in an environmentally conscious manner and the Gamay grapes are carefully picked and sorted by hand to produce this delightfully light, fruity and well-structured red wine.

If you are touring southern Burgundy in a motorhome or campervan, it’s easy to share Fred and Helen’s passion as they welcome motorhomes on the estate (payment in wine purchases only!) so why not stop for a night at La Maison des Bulliats and discover an excellent wine.
